On your arrival at Entebbe International Airport, we will have our representative pick you up and take you to drive north to Kidepo Valley National Park. The drive will take about 10-13 hours. So, lunch will be taken along the way. The drive will be scenic. We shall be passing through the route via Karamoja which is a vast expanse of unspoiled wildlife paradise. We will be passing the east of Lake Kyoga. As we arrive Kidepo Valley National Park, you will have the chance to enjoy panoramic views of the Narus River Valley from the lodge’s veranda. From there, there would be plenty of chances to spot wildlife.

In the evening, we shall do a game drive along the Narus River Valley where we can spot elephants, herds of buffaloes, jackals, Jackson’s hartebeest, klipspringers, and possibly lions and many other mammals. After the activity, we shall return to our accommodation, have dinner and take our much deserved rest and prepare for another day of adventure.

We shall start off the day with an early breakfast so we can do a sunrise game drive. This will give us a unique opportunity to encounter wandering animals such as the tall Ostriches. We shall drive to the Kanangorok Hot Springs which is about 11-kilometers from Kidepo. Kanangorok is considered to be the permanent source of water for the park.

We will drive back to our accommodation for lunch. The next activity in the afternoon will involve cultural immersion as we interact with the people of Karamajong at Karenna and Kapedo. It is said that Karamajong means “the old men can walk no farther” from the phrase “ekar ngimojong.” The Karamajong people have many interesting practices such as their wedding ritual, where there is a unique rite of passage for the man to be able to get engaged with his bride. Learn more about their culture by interacting with them on this very special occasion of your visit to them. The Karamajong are mainly livestock herders. This is relevant to them socially and culturally.

Today after breakfast, we shall indulge in the African landscape and wildlife in Kidepo Valley National Park. We will have the chance to have a lunch picnic in the park grounds. Be prepared to be out on an adventure the whole day, and we shall return to rest late in the day.

The park contains one of the most exciting faunas in Uganda. The national park boasts of 77 mammal species, and several of which are endemic to Uganda, mostly in the Kidepo and Karamoja region. Endemic carnivores include the bat-eared fox, striped hyena, aardwolf, caracal and cheetah. Other carnivores are also present in the area. There are lions, leopards, spotted hyenas, black-backed and side-striped jackals. There are high chances of viewing tree climbing lions that always sit on sausage trees along Narus valley. Alternatively, the lions may just be on the rock right at the entry of the Apoka Park Headquarters.

After taking your breakfast, we will have a guided nature walk and do birdwatching. You will be astounded by the diversity of birds in the park as there are about 14 birds of prey, out of fifty-eight which are endemic to Kidepo/Karamoja region. There will be a chance for you to see Egyptian Vultures, Pygmy Falcons, and Varreaux’s Eagles. These are just some among the many bird species which can be found in Kidepo. Early morning we shall set off from Kampala to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park one of the homes of Mountain Gorillas. It is estimated that half of the world’s surviving population of mountain gorillas reside in Bwindi. About 300 live within Bwindi boundaries. The drive from Kampala to Bwindi is long but entertaining. It is a 465-kilometer drive which will take almost half a day but it is scenic and picture worthy. During our ride towards Bwindi, we will have lunch along the way.

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park offers a dramatic steeply forested landscape and is incredibly dense. It is crisscrossed by numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists. Apart from the mountain gorillas, there are a variety of primates to be seen including the blue monkeys, red tailed monkeys, and black & white colobus monkeys. There are also frequent sightings of Great Blue Turacos which marvel both birders and non-birdwatchers alike.

We will arrive late afternoon and settle in our tranquil accommodation upon our arrival. A good night’s rest is essential to prepare for the action-packed adventure we are to embark on the following day.

After breakfast we shall proceed to the park offices to begin our adventure with the gentle giants. A briefing will take place at the park headquarters. The duration of the activity will depend on the sighting and movement of the gorillas. It can span from 1 to 8 hours. The sight of the mountain gorillas will be truly an experience to remember. Mountain gorillas are endangered ape species and there are only few left in the world. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is a unique destination since it is the only place in Africa that mountain gorillas and chimpanzees co-exist. Packed lunch will be prepared by your accommodation. Your visit to them will help, as the park permits which you have purchased to enter the park will fund conservation. After the day’s action-packed adventure, we shall return to your lodge to rest overnight and have dinner.

After an early breakfast, we shall checkout of our accommodations, and forge forward to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The drive will take about 5 hours.

On our arrival to Queen Elizabeth National Park, we shall head for Ishasha. It is in the southern section and is most famous for its tree-climbing lions. It is one of the only two destinations where tree-climbing lions are found.   has a river that meanders through a riparian forest. The forest cover is fantastic as there are acacia trees, and a lot of shrubbery. In Ishasha, there will be chances to encounter antelopes, huge buffalo herds, hippopotamuses, and elephants. On this day of adventure, we shall have a nice picnic lunch. After the day’s activity, we can return to our accommodation to have dinner and get well-deserved rest after this action-packed day of adventure.

We should begin before breakfast, just having tea or coffee so we can go for a game drive through the Kasenyi Park. It is at sunrise that there is the biggest chance to see lions, hyenas, and leopards. After which, we can return to our accommodation for a full breakfast. Then, we shall head to the Mweya Peninsula, on the northern bank for a boat ride along the Kazinga Channel. There will be plentiful wildlife along the banks. There will be a good chance we can see buffaloes, elephants, birds, and hippopotamuses. The Mweya Peninsula is a sight to behold as it overlooks the Katwe bay of Lake Edward. It is considered as the ‘heart of sightseeing’ in the park. After the activity, we return to our accommodation for dinner and get our much deserved rest.

Depending on your flight arrival in Entebbe International Airport in Kampala, or should you already be staying the night before in Kampala, we can set out as early as you are able to, at a time that is convenient for you. However, we should take note that the travel to Murchison will take about 4 to 5 hours. If we leave early morning, there will be a good chance for us to have an afternoon picnic at the top of the falls. The later we depart, the later we arrive. Our drive will be toward the north-west route via Masindi town where we can have lunch. We will pass by the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary along the way. The sanctuary has 15 resident southern white rhinos and it is the only place in Uganda where there are still wild Rhinos. Then, later in the evening, after our quick visit to the falls, we can check in at our accommodation to get some dinner, good sleep and relaxation for the night.

GAME DRIVE
This activity will entail us to start very early in the day. So, you should take a cup of tea or coffee to warm yourself up. We shall leave for the ferry crossing to the north bank by 0630H. Don’t worry as full breakfast will be served as we return to our accommodation after the game drive activity. The early morning start will give us the opportunity to see predators returning to their hideouts. This will also showcase for us, animals like Jackson’s Hartebeests, lions, herds of buffaloes, Rothschild’s giraffe, and waterbuck elephants, among others. We will pass between the Victoria and Albert Niles to the Nile-Lake Albert Delta, this is part of the Buligi game tracks. This adventure will take about 4 hours. It will finish at about 1100H, then head back to our accommodation to take some rest, and lunch before starting with the next activity in today’s itinerary.

BOAT TRIP
We will take a scenic boat ride along the Victoria Nile, which is part of the catchment of water under the falls. From this view, the falls look very majestic. This also where we can have close encounters with basking Hippos by the Nile bank, and the chance to see the huge Nile crocodiles. This area is also a haven not only for birdwatchers but for non-birdwatchers alike since there are about 450 species of birds in the vicinity. This activity will take about 3 hours.

After the boat trip, we return to our accommodation to freshen up and get ready for a special barbeque dinner where there will be storytelling of different folklores by the camp fire.

After breakfast, we drive to Kaniyo Pabidi Forest Reserve where we can do some chimpanzee tracking. The chimpanzee sounds reverberate through the whole forest. We can see the chimps in their natural habitat. The view is fantastic and the wildlife is very diverse and lush. The chimps share 98% percent of their DNA with humans. It will be a very interesting and unique interaction. After the chimpanzee tracking in Kaniyo Pabidi Forest Reserve, we shall head to Kibale Forest National Park, and have lunch along the drive. When we reach Kibale Forest National Park, we shall check in to our accommodation, have dinner, and get some rest for the night to prepare for the next adventure the next day.

CHIMP TRACKING / PRIMATE WALK
After breakfast, we must be at the Kanyanchu Visitors Center at 0800H where the Chimp Tracking activity commences. The hike is seasonal, only during the dry season (January to February, June to September, mid-November to December). It is about 12 kilometers and will take about 2-3 hours. Apart from the chimpanzees which humans share 98% of DNA with, be surprised to see other primates, and a vast rockery of birds. Kibale National Park is has the highest density of primate life in the world and is home to about 375 bird species which include the Grey-Throated Flycatcher, Masked & Black-Capped Apalis. The park also showcases traditionally used plant wildlife. Packed lunch will be prepared by our accommodation. To conclude the day, we return to our lodge to have dinner, and take a much deserved rest after an action-packed day of adventure.
