Depending on your flight arrival in Entebbe International Airport in Kampala, or should you already be staying the night before in Kampala, we can set out as early as you are able to, at a time that is convenient for you. However, we should take note that the travel to Murchison will take about 4 to 5 hours. If we leave early morning, there will be a good chance for us to have an afternoon picnic at the top of the falls. The later we depart, the later we arrive. Our drive will be toward the north-west route via Masindi town where we can have lunch. We will pass by the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary along the way. The sanctuary has 15 resident southern white rhinos and it is the only place in Uganda where there are still wild Rhinos. Then, later in the evening, after our quick visit to the falls, we can check in at our accommodation to get some dinner, good sleep and relaxation for the night.

GAME DRIVE
This activity will entail us to start very early in the day. So, you should take a cup of tea or coffee to warm yourself up. We shall leave for the ferry crossing to the north bank by 0630H. Don’t worry as full breakfast will be served as we return to our accommodation after the game drive activity. The early morning start will give us the opportunity to see predators returning to their hideouts. This will also showcase for us, animals like Jackson’s Hartebeests, lions, herds of buffaloes, Rothschild’s giraffe, and waterbuck elephants, among others. We will pass between the Victoria and Albert Niles to the Nile-Lake Albert Delta, this is part of the Buligi game tracks. This adventure will take about 4 hours. It will finish at about 1100H, then head back to our accommodation to take some rest, and lunch before starting with the next activity in today’s itinerary.

BOAT TRIP
We will take a scenic boat ride along the Victoria Nile, which is part of the catchment of water under the falls. From this view, the falls look very majestic. This also where we can have close encounters with basking Hippos by the Nile bank, and the chance to see the huge Nile crocodiles. This area is also a haven not only for birdwatchers but for non-birdwatchers alike since there are about 450 species of birds in the vicinity. This activity will take about 3 hours.

After the boat trip, we return to our accommodation to freshen up and get ready for a special barbeque dinner where there will be storytelling of different folklores by the camp fire.

After breakfast, we drive to Kaniyo Pabidi Forest Reserve where we can do some chimpanzee tracking. The chimpanzee sounds reverberate through the whole forest. We can see the chimps in their natural habitat. The view is fantastic and the wildlife is very diverse and lush. The chimps share 98% percent of their DNA with humans. It will be a very interesting and unique interaction. After the chimpanzee tracking in Kaniyo Pabidi Forest Reserve, we shall head to Queen Elizabeth National Park, and have lunch in Fort Portal which is along the way. When we reach Queen Elizabeth National Park, we shall check in to our accommodation, have dinner, and get some rest for the night to prepare for the next adventure the next day.

We can have an early breakfast as we travel to the nearby Kyambura Gorge. During the walk, you may spot chimpanzees, other monkeys, elephants, hippopotamuses, elephants, lions, and birds, among other animals. After lunch, we shall go to the Mweya Peninsula for a boat ride along the Kazinga Channel. There will be plentiful wildlife along the banks. There will be a good chance we can see buffaloes, elephants, birds, and hippopotamuses.

The Mweya Peninsula is a sight to behold as it overlooks the Katwe bay of Lake Edward. It is considered as the ‘heart of sightseeing’ in the park. Subsequently, the Northern area of Kazinga Channel is near Mweya Peninsula. It is the body of water joining together Lake Edward and Lake George and is about 40 meters long. After the day’s activity, we can return to our accommodation to have dinner and get well-deserved rest aftert his action-packed day of adventure.

We can pick you up from Entebbe International Airport in Kampala, Uganda/Kigali International Airport, Rwanda if you are just arriving from a flight or from your respective hotel where you stayed the night in Kampala/Entebbe or Kigali. The drive will take about 5 to 6 hours from Kampala via Mbarara. Mbarara is located in the western part of Uganda. It is one of the fastest growing towns in the area. It will take the same amount of time if we are coming from Kigali. We shall be traveling via the Ntungamo-Katunguru Road.

Depending on how early we depart, the earlier we reach Queen Elizabeth National Park. If we leave later in the day, we will expect a late arrival, and might be well into the evening. When we reach Queen Elizabeth National Park, we will check in and have dinner in our accommodation, and get some rest to recharge for the activities on the next day.

After breakfast we shall proceed to the park offices to begin our adventure with the gentle giants. A briefing will take place at the park headquarters. The duration of the activity will depend on the sighting and movement of the gorillas. It can span from 1 to 8 hours. The sight of the mountain gorillas will be truly an experience to remember. Mountain gorillas are endangered ape species and there are only few left in the world. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is a unique destination since it is the only place in Africa that mountain gorillas and chimpanzees co-exist. Packed lunch will be prepared by your accommodation. Your visit to them will help, as the park permits which you have purchased to enter the park will fund conservation.

After the day’s action-packed adventure, we shall return to your lodge to checkout and drive towards Lake Bunyonyi. The drive will take about 2 hours via the Muko-Bufundi Road. Upon reaching Lake Bunyonyi, we will check in to our accommodation, have dinner, rest to prepare for the activities the next day.

There are about 29 islets and we can visit the 6 main ones – Akampene (Punishment Island), Bushara, Kyahugye, Bwama, Njuyeera, Bucuranuka (Upside down). It will be interesting to know stories that are linked with these islands. It will provide a lot of cultural insight. Since the lake is known to be free of bilhazaria, you can take a swim. It is very safe and does not have crocodiles or hippos in the water. In any water activity, it is important to take precaution. You can also ride a canoe to explore the lake further. We can also take a short trek to get a good vista of the whole lake. Cultural immersion and interaction can be done with the local settlers in the area. We begin the day early with an early breakfast since we need to be at the park headquarters at Kinigi for the briefing at 0700H. Packed lunch will be prepared by our accommodation. This activity may take 2-8 hours, depending on the sightings and the movement of the gorillas and primates. Mountain Gorillas are the most endangered ape species in the world, with only about 700 left worldwide, they are mostly found at the intersection of Rwanda, Uganda, and Democratic Republic of Congo. But with conservation efforts, it is said that their population is now slowly increasing. Gorillas’ disposition is generally nonaggressive and calm unless they feel threatened. Your visit to these Mountain Gorillas are contributing to their preservation, the funds generated from the permits you have purchased will revert to their conservation.

After breakfast, we will visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial and, the Caplaki Craft Village.

The Kigali Genocide Memorial is located in Gasabo District in Gisozi, 10 minutes away from the town center. This memorial honors the lives of more than a million of Rwandans that perished in defending peace and education. It is also the final resting place of about 250,000 Rwandans who were victims of the Tutsi. Apart from the cemetery, there is a library, a museum, and a photo gallery.

The Caplaki Craft Village has 38 independent stalls selling a varied selection of Rwandan handicrafts including masks and carvings, and banana-fiber products. The village is good to buy your souvenirs.

After the day’s activity, we go back to our accommodation, have dinner and rest.

CHIMP TRACKING / PRIMATE WALK
After breakfast, we must be at the Kanyanchu Visitors Center at 0800H where the Chimp Tracking activity commences. The hike is seasonal, only during the dry season (January to February, June to September, mid-November to December). It is about 12 kilometers and will take about 2-3 hours. Apart from the chimpanzees which humans share 98% of DNA with, be surprised to see other primates, and a vast rockery of birds. Kibale National Park is has the highest density of primate life in the world and is home to about 375 bird species which include the Grey-Throated Flycatcher, Masked & Black-Capped Apalis. The park also showcases traditionally used plant wildlife. Packed lunch will be prepared by our accommodation.

To conclude the day, we return to our lodge to have dinner, and take a much deserved rest after an action-packed day of adventure.

On this day of adventure, we shall have a nice picnic lunch. Then, we return to our accommodation to checkout and forge forward to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. The drive will take about 5 hours.
