Then, we can head out to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Along the way, we can have lunch. The drive will take about 5 to 6 hours from Kampala via Mbarara. Mbarara is located in the western part of Uganda. It is one of the fastest growing towns in the area. Depending on how early we depart, the earlier we reach Queen Elizabeth National Park. If we leave later in the day, we will expect a late arrival, and might be well into the evening. When we reach Queen Elizabeth National Park, we will check in and have dinner in our accommodation, and get some rest to recharge for the activities on the next day.

We can have an early breakfast as we travel to the nearby Kyambura Gorge. During the walk, you may spot monkeys, elephants, hippopotamuses, elephants, lions, and birds, among other animals.

After lunch, we shall go to the Mweya Peninsula for a boat ride along the Kazinga Channel. There will be plentiful wildlife along the banks. There will be a good chance we can see buffaloes, elephants, birds, and hippopotamuses.

The Mweya Peninsula is a sight to behold as it overlooks the Katwe bay of Lake Edward. It is considered as the ‘heart of sightseeing’ in the park. Subsequently, the Northern area of Kazinga Channel is near Mweya Peninsula. It is the body of water joining together Lake Edward and Lake George. It is about 40 meters long. We can view a lot of different wildlife along the banks. There will be a variety of mammals, reptiles, and birds. After the day’s activity, we can return to our accommodation to have dinner and get well-deserved rest after this action-packed day of adventure.
